Mentoring (school based)

School based 1:1 mentoring is typically utilised for students who are experiencing challenges with their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). Sessions take place in school hours and within the school premises and we require a minimum period of 12 sessions, for a duration of 1 hour each week. To reduce any conflict around learning times, we ensure that all of our sessions are arranged in alignment with a students timetable. Moreover, in order to gain a greater understanding of the concerns raised in a referral, within the first 4 sessions, we require the student and teacher to complete our initial assessments. This process provides the school, mentor and student with clarity on the identified issues and desired outcomes from the intervention. We ensure that on the completion of the 12 sessions, our sessions, reports and assessments, serve the needs of the student and captured the voice of all parties.

Sessions: 12 Capacity: 3 x 1:1 Students per Half Day or 5 x 1:1 Students per Full Day Duration: 1 hour

*Continuation of sessions (beyond the 12 sessions) is available for schools if they wish to continue the support for the student.

Intensive Mentoring

Our Intensive 1:1 mentoring programme is designed to specifically support young people who are at greater risk of permanent exclusion, not accessing education and/or are at risk of criminalisation. The duration of a session is up to 3 hours and typically takes place within school hours. However, due to the varied activities and potential travel implications, it is not unusual for sessions to finish beyond school hours. In which case, the young person would be returned home by their mentor. As part of this package of support, all sustenance, educational visits and recreational costs are included as part of the intervention. We believe that for many of our young people, the lack of positive experiences that encourage personal growth and development, plays a significant role in their outlook towards themselves, others and their futures. As a result, we ensure that each young person is exposed to new and challenging environments to help bolster areas where they may be lacking as well as areas they already excel, as this is also key to bolstering their self esteem and confidence.

Sessions: 12 Capacity: 1 x 1:1 Session Duration: Up to 3 hours
